PRAYER FOR THE PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION

Heavenly Father, as we prepare for the inauguration of a new President we pray for a peaceful and fruitful transition to the next Administration. We commend to your keeping Donald Trump, Michael Pence, and all the nominees for Cabinet, White House, and senior government positions. Give them the wisdom and guidance they will need to carry out their responsibilities. May they seek first your kingdom and your righteousness as they assume the burdens of power. May they act impartially to benefit all citizens of our nation without respect to color, creed, ethnicity, or position. We particularly pray for our new President that he will appoint honorable and competent people to our Courts of Justice and government agencies. Protect our new President and Vice-President and their families from harm. We also pray for President Obama and Vice President Biden as they leave their offices. We thank you for their service to the nation and their witness as faithful husbands and devoted fathers to their families. May our nation go forward with strength as we celebrate this peaceful democratic transition of leadership. May we be a beacon of justice, hope and freedom to all the world. All this we ask in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the ruler of all the nations on earth. Amen.
