Christians in China (100 million) are facing severe persecution. Nina Shea in a National Review article (August 2, 2021) describes the persecution by the Chinese Communist Party. Thousands of churches are being closed and demolished, Christian teaching is being censored, Christian leaders are being imprisoned, tortured, brainwashed and executed. Bible are harder to find and internet sources are being deleted. Crosses and Bible texts and holy pictures are being removed and replaced with Xi Jinping’s pictures and sayings. Catholic bishops have been detained and confined to house arrest and tight surveillance. The CCP regards all religion as poison but also sees Christianity as foreign and not Chinese and therefore to be eliminated. The Communist Party does not want any competition for total allegiance. Christianity is always seen to be subversive to totalitarian control. Remember in your prayers Christians in China and other countries where they are persecuted. The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church of Jesus Christ who died for us that we might have eternal life.
